Viseart Eyeshadow Palettes

A couple of months ago I bought the Beautylish Lucky Bag for $75. This “lucky bag” you bought without having any idea what you would get so it was a big gamble since you might get something you really hate or really love. I’m not going to lie $75 was a lot to gamble but it was my Christmas gift to myself and since I set my limit for $100 I was ok with spending $75 and waiting in slight fear and anxiety Lololol

Finally the day arrived it came! I had seen some bags on Instagram so I knew sort of what to expect, like everyone would get a travel size Bioderma and some sort of palette. I also knew I did not want any Too Faced or Charlotte Tilbury because I have a lot and worried I would get a double but imagine my surprise when I pulled out a Viseart (retail $80) out of my box 🙀💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽

I received the 07 Cool Mattes along with all of these goodies.

The only thing I don’t really use is the RMS lip and cheek balm but I do keep it in my purse and just use it as a lip balm whenever I remember I have it.

The Viseart palette alone paid for my entire bag so everything else was a great surprise and bonus. I know I got really lucky and will definitely be buying another one this year.

Now some swatches…

This palette swatches aren’t the best but they apply on my eyelids very nicely and don’t crease 😍

After playing around with this palette for a couple of months I knew I wanted to get the Neurtal and Dark Mattes ones next. I did not want to pay the hefty price tags though and thought I would get one during the Sephora 15% off sale in the Spring.

I also have seen them on sale through other websites for $50 and $60 but since I didn’t know of anyone who has bought from those sites I was very wary.

Finally, the day came I saw them on sale on Musebeauty.pro and I immediately sent it to my husband as part of my wish list for Valentine’s Day. My girlfriend had bought the same deal during Black Friday so I trusted the site and the deal was too good to pass up.

2 Viseart Eyeshadow Palettes of your choice and 3 Esum eyeshadow brushes (the 3 brushes combined retail for $78 🙀) for $120!!! That alone saved me $40 on the palettes, free shipping, and the brush hoarder in me screamed in delight for new brushes.

I had mentioned with not so subtle hints that the deal was only for that weekend and it would make the best gift ever (I always say that though when it comes to something I want lol)

Valentine’s Day came and he didn’t disappoint!!! I got exactly what I wanted and a couple of other surprises throughout the day  🙊

I mean look at these palettes 😍😍😍

This is what the “deal” came with ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I used the brushes already and I really like them so I’m even happier they came with the deal 😃

Here is the 01 Neutral Mattes Palette.

Love this and it’s perfect for everyday ❤️
It recently occurred to me I had too many shimmers in my collection so that’s why I had wanted the mattes palettes so bad.

They did not disappoint at all 😍

My favorite palette is this 04 Dark Mattes because I can see myself using this so much!

The top row especially will be loved but the other rows will be loved and fun to play with and step outside of my normal comfort color zone.

One thing I originally didn’t like was the basic packaging but now having traveled with my Cool Mattes I love it! I don’t need to worry about it getting scratched or the cover getting damaged as long as the shadows are safe I’m happy. It also is on the travel friendly size since they are so pigmented and blend like a dream I don’t need too much product making the price point definitely worth it 💕

All three of my babies together, so beautiful 🤗😍❤️

I would highly recommend any of the Viseart palettes but just wait for a deal because they do pop up a lot and it only takes patience.

Have you tried Viseart yet? What are you liked and dislikes?

Happy Monday 💋

Birthday goodies

A couple of weeks ago it was my birthday and I got some amazing gifts from my very best friends! I wanted to share a couple of them that I have been enjoying 😃

Tarte Bling It On Amazonian Blush Palette ($44) was a great surprise to get 😃

I have last year’s and loved it so I was super happy to get this year’s too.

Side by side ❤️❤️

Some swatches

This year the blushes (at least in my opinion) are a lot more pigmented than last year’s.

My favorites are Fetching and Smashing while my least favorites are Dollface and the non existent Beaming lol. Beaming is nice as a highlighter but definitely not alone as a blush on my olive skin tone.

These are swatches from last year’s palette the Tarte Pin Up Girl. Breathless is the same as Beaming on me where they don’t show up so I typically mix them with the other darker more pigmented shades if I don’t want to use them as a highlighter.

Bling It On

Pros

-slim palette

-names on palette

Cons

glitter from palette gets everywhere

-not travel friendly because it has opened in my makeup bag when I went away for a night, but thankfully no major damage

Pin Up Girl

Pros

-shades are more olive tone friendly

-I love the packaging

-I like the clasp and that when I shut it, it stays closed

Cons

-a tad bulky

-I don’t know the name of the blushes without looking them up

I really enjoy using both, but still leans more towards the 2014 palette than the newer one.

Stila Eternally Yours Liquid Lipstick Set ($39)

I have been been eyeing this set for awhile and was so ecstatic when I got it 😻

The doe foot applicator makes it super easy to apply. A lip liner is needed and while applying some colors feathered around my lips so I needed concealer to clean up but I didn’t mind too much.

The lipsticks themselves lasted a good 4-6 hours (which included light snacking and drinking water) and I love how velvety they felt while applying but quickly turned into an opaque and matte finish.

I can’t really pick a favorite from the lot but my least favorite is Caramello.

It’s just too light but I do love mixing it with other colors especially Como and Chianti but alone I just look washed out 😔

Guerlain Meteorites Powder For The Face and Décolleté ($80)

I had mentioned to my husband that I was dying for these and was so happy when he gave them to me for my birthday ❤️❤️❤️❤️

These are definitely pricey and I don’t see myself getting another one until I use these up but omg the hype around these is real people it’s REAL!!!

They give this inner glow that not even my Hourglass Ambient Powders can give and no joke whenever someone compliments me about my “pregnancy glow” it’s always when I’m wearing this, I mean I would hope I’m always glowing but compared to my other powders this is the only one that really makes me pop and gets people to notice. (I’m wearing it in the last Dose of Colors post.)

Laura Mercier Le Petite Soufflés Body Creme Collection ($60)

I had wanted this from Sephora when they were having their VIB sale but of course it was sold out and I haven’t seen it restocked since so when I went Black Friday Shopping I was very happy to find this at Nordstrom.

I figured I would treat myself to it because of the mere fact I had been wanting this for so long.

One 12oz alone cost $60 so I love being able to try 6 (2oz) for the same price just more variety.

During the holidays trying new lotions and body butters are a favorite of mine since I normally don’t stray from my Palmer’s Body Butter but when they have these sets I love giving into my curiosity.

The Collection includes

– Ambre Vanillé

– Fresh Fig

– Crème de Pistache

– Almond Coconut Milk

-Crème Brûlée

-Tarte au Citron

They all smell amazing and I’m currently using Tarte au Citron (which has an amazing lemon loaf smell that I am loving)
I don’t think I would buy just one for the price of $60 but I’m certainly going to enjoy this set and next holiday season splurge again.

That’s it for now, my friends were all very sweet and giving so I haven’t had a chance to try everything out but I am set for the rest of the winter lolol and will post when I have tried more things out.

Have you gotten any of these sets? What are your thoughts?

Dose of Colors

I originally wasn’t going to write a post about just one lipstick but man did it really impress me 🙀

On Black Friday Dose of Colors was having a sale (for the life of me I can’t remember the sale 😂) and it gave me the perfect reason to test them out. I have so many lipsticks I thought I would only get 1 to try it out thinking I wouldn’t be too impressed but I would get it out of my system.

Since Stone was sold out I decided to get the shade Truffle

It looked like a beautiful nude on the website and since I don’t have many nude liquid lipsticks I knew I would get good use out of it.

Here is a swatch of it 😍😍😍😍

The applicator is surpringly easy to apply the lipstick and love how fast it dries. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to easily apply on my lips and get every nook and cranny but it did a great job!

Here it is on (2 coats) and man do I love it! My lips look so smooth and it wore well throughout the night 😃

I had dinner, dessert, and gave various kisses to my son and husband and while it did fade a little I liked how evenly it faded if that makes sense.

I reapplied only once (the bubble gum blowing contest we were having took the biggest toll on the lipstick) and at night when I took it off I was worried I would have to exfoliate a lot and put a lip mask on but was pleasantly surprised my lips were not dried out 🎉

Typically, when I wear liquid lipsticks the following day I can’t wear one again or any matte so I just wear a hydrating lipstick but this one was different 😃 My lips were still soft and not cracked 💃🏽

Normal price for one lipstick is $18 which is still very affordable in my eyes especially for the quality you get ❤️❤️ Another perk was that shipping was super fast!

I will definitely be stalking their site for Stone and will probably get a couple of more shades in hopes that they are all as good as Truffle 🙊

Favorite Dynamic Duo

Tags

, , , ,

As every season comes and goes I always have my favorite lipstick and lip liner I like to call my “dynamic duo”

This season has been all about the Sophia Loren Dolce & Gabbana Sinature Lipstick $35.50 and The Midnight Life Collab with Sigma Camila Coelho lip liner in Fine Feather $9

I absolutely love this mauvey pink lipstick and with the perfect lip liner I am constantly wearing this shade almost daily 😁

I feel bad for my other lipsticks but they understand how favorites work lololo

Both of these are still in stock and if you don’t mind the flowery/perfumey smell that does linger for a bit after you apply I say GET IT!!

Just a couple of snaps I took with both on

And of course the one I took when it first came and I had to try it on only to text it to Josie and her judge my concealer setting in 😒 like woman, let me live and focus on the beauty that is the lipstick not the rest of the face 😂

In other news to explain my MIA ness I found out I was pregnant during my vacation in Madrid! Hence the Madrid goodies Lolololo

It was hard to find unisex clothes so we just picked up a couple of things and today I find out whether I’m having a boy or girl 🙀

I’m 20 weeks along and due March 7 😃 I won’t focus too much on the pregnancy but I will announce if it’s a boy/girl today on our Instagram!

Have a great Monday

Naked palettes collaboration

Tags

, , , ,

Hi friends! Sorry we have been MIA for awhile but we are back with this fun collaboration with Stephanie from Stephie Estie, Jen from In the Beauty Box, Karen from Confetti and Curves, and Kaily from Hello Kaily ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Stephanie had contacted us and asked if we wanted to do a collab using the Naked, Naked 2, or both palettes and we jumped at the chance.

First up is Janet’s everyday 10 minute look

I decided to use the Naked 2 palette because it’s my favorite!

I love all the colors in this palette but for today’s look I used (left to right) Foxy, for a primer, Tease, for some color, and my favorite Half Baked for shimmer all over the lid.

I also used Blackout as an eyeliner.

Foxy went on first and of course you can’t tell lololol but that’s ok

Then Tease but again barely noticeable but that’s how I like it

And finally Half Baked on all over and Blackout as my eyeliner. This is my favorite type look really simple and only takes a couple of minutes. I am really a no fuss person unless it is date night or girls’ night.

No mascara on yet but I love the simplicity of this look and how easy it is to create.

Sorry my look was boring but where I fall flat on my eye looks I always make up in my lipsticks.

Sorry the lighting in my house stinks, but this is how I look daily minus the fact I don’t have concealer in this picture.

I wish my look wasn’t so blah but be sure to check out the other girls because I know they will look a lot better than me lololol.

Happy Wednesday 😘

Update: 11:11 PM

Hi all!

Sorry, it’s late but Janet mentioned to me about this cool collaboration. It’s been awhile since we both posted something so thought it would be fun 😀 been so busy today to write my part in but hey I’m still doing it lol

So, I only own Naked 2 and it’s my favorite eyeshadow palette. This is usually my combo when I actually decide to apply makeup haha

With my tiny Asian eyes I only use three colors and apply them horizontal. Nothing fancy.

First, Bootycall. All over my lid to the contour area (above my crease line).

Then, I apply Busted to my crease and blend

I usually use Half Baked but I decided to apply Chopper all over my lid.

It’s hard to tell but I am wearing eyeshadow hahaha

Final look! Using my Stila liquid eye liner and mac Goddess of the Sea lipstick. Nothing drastic but that’s just me hahaha don’t forget to check out the other girls! 😘 -Josie

Josie’s June Ipsy Bag…..And a little update on JanandJot

Happy Friday Everyone!!

June is almost over already! So fast! Anywhoooo…thought I would share what I received in my Ipsy’s bag. I am really liking Ipsy! This is my second bag and I love both bags so far. June theme is Swim into Beauty.

The bag itself is a simply black bag and I’m assuming it’s waterproof….or not. Tons of goodies here that I’m excited to use

 1. Jules & Esther Vitamin C serum

Okay, this is probably the only item that I am not too thrill about LOL serum smells great though! The formula helps with anti-aging. This botanical-based serum plumps, hydrates, minimizes wrinkles and even skin tone

2. Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Candy

Yay! Super excited to receive this popular lipstick. Love the bright pink color and it’s just perfect for the summer.

3. tre’StiQue Mini Shadow Crayon in Aspen Pine (earthy green).

The cap on this crayon is shape as a tip of the crayon so I thought I lost the cap. When I went to swatch on my hand nothing came out hahaha duh! So, when I removed the cap I saw the crayon. I can be slow at times 😛 This eye shadow is creamy so I will probably use it. Love the color I got too

4. AURORA Gel Effect Nail Polish in 4 Alarm Fire

I never tried gel nails but when my coworker gets her nails done it looks really nice and appears to stay on for weeks. I’m excited to see how this product works and love the color. Perfect for swimming and summer 😀
5. BioRepublic SkinCare Sheet Mask Trio

More face masks! I’m really starting to love face masks and letting my skin free so refresh. This came in Aloe Rescue Revitalizing Fiber Mask, Cucumber Breeze Soothing Fiber Mask, and Green Tea Detox Purifying Fiber Mask

Don’t forget today is the last day to enter the giveaway.

If you don’t have WordPress or a reblog button you can just repost the imagine on Instagram and tag us #janandjotgiveaway

After we announce the winner tomorrow we will be taking a month break. We just need time to be with our families and create new content for you including starting a Facebook page and creating a YouTube.

We will be posting sporadically but not consistently. We hope to still check our WordPress reader as often as we can and we can’t wait to come back full force in August.

Thank you all for supporting us! We feel so much love here in the blogging community 🙂

NYX Big & Loud Lash Primer

Tags

, , , , ,

Late last week I stopped into Ulta and noticed NYX was having a Buy One Get One Half Sale so I browsed and picked up some items I had been wanting. One item that stuck out was this NYX Mascara Primer

I have always been curious about a mascara primer but just too cheap to buy one. When I saw NYX had one I immediately picked it up and added it to my basket. For $6.99 I am in love 💘

The product looks white but goes on pretty clear and I only saw some white stuff on my lashes but once dry it disappeared.

I put this on with my other primers to give it time to set in and work.

Here is a before with no makeup on. I am lucky to have naturally long eyelashes but the NYX product makes them even longer! 😍😍😍

I have to say my eyelashes looked super long and like little spider legs lol.

I don’t really have anything to compare this product to since this is the first of its kind I am trying but I don’t see myself straying for the price.

Has anyone else tried this?

Hope everyone has a great day 😘❤️

Klorane Eye Patches

Tags

, ,

Happy Wednesday! Half way through the work week yay!!!

I received two patches of Klorane Smoothing and Relaxing eye patches in my Ipsy bag a few months ago. I decided to try them out since I haven’t been getting that much sleep and hope that this will reduce some puffiness from my eyes.

I read reviews to put these patches in the freezer for 15 minutes before using them. I got out of the shower and I teared the package: two patches for each eyes. These patches are huge! I placed them on my face and it made my eyes look super small hahaha It was nice and cool but felt heavy on my face. Left the patches on for 20 minutes. All I wanted to do was lay down but was too afraid that I would fall asleep. So, yes it was relaxing to have it on.

I’m not sure what I’m supposed to look for but after removing the patches my under eyes they felt hydrated. Do I see a difference? No. But my skin is soft 🙂 Would I buy this product? Probably not.

Have you tried these patches? Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

-Josie 😀
