This weekend was one big blur of a weekend. We drove in to Chicago on Thursday afternoon and came back last night. I always have a good time back in Chicago but I hate the 6 hour drive to and from, ugh the worst!!! It is never scenic and feels so long driving through Wisconsin.
Anyways, it was a good time as always but I am happy to be home and settling back in. I go back at the end of the month for a friend’s wedding and I am already dreading the drive. Someone save us!!!
Some snippets of my weekend
My mother in law did an Easter egg hunt for the for the grown ups and I was lucky to find these earrings. Right up my alley and so pretty 🙂 I didn’t have the heart to tell her I own the teal ones already lolololol but the pink ones I don’t. I hope everyone who celebrates Easter had a great day ❤
On Friday I went with Josie to the Art Institute 🙂 Parts of the Modern Wing were closed off, but it was still nice to be able to see some art through the glass doors. Oh hello Roy Lichtenstein
Jo started her DD responsibilities early on Friday so during happy hour as I happily drank some wine she ordered her Shirley Temple lololololol
I was very surprised my brother got me my favorite donut early every day during my stay. I love Stan’s Donuts but especially their blueberry donut filled with cream cheese. OMGGGG it is delicious and so happy my brother got me some for the road too so I was able to enjoy them last night and today, mmmmmm

I feel you. I do not go back to Chicago too often, because the drive outside of Chicago is so long and boring. I am always happy when I am back there though. It looks like you had a good time though and those donuts look sooooo yummy!

Yes! Exactly I wish I could teleport from here to there because nothing against the state of Wisconsin but driving on the highway through it, is never fun. Yes if you come to Chicago you must go to Stan’s Donuts so good

Yeah when I got back to visit my family in Michigan, there is a local bakery that makes really good donuts and other carbs lol I will have to take advantage of it lol 🙂

Glad you had a great time in Chicago Janet! The weather was ideal so it’s great to hear you went out and about the city. It was such a fun idea! Everyone got two jewelry eggs (for the ladies, boys received socks or other accessories) and 4 candy filled eggs. It was so much fun shaking the egg to see what we would get lolol. I hope this becomes a tradtion haha 🙂

Out of the jewelry or socks, I’d probably go for the socks, lol. I always manage to loose them, hehe. Hopefully it does become a tradition. 🙂

My sister in law is from Chicago, I would love to visit one day, the drive does seem like it would be too bad but flights from certain airport are ridiculously cheap. Our weekend was crazy, my husbands bday was on Easter so there was a ton of people at my house on Sunday. Glad it’s all over to be honest.

You should you would have a blast and so would your kids! It is a very child friendly place 🙂 So neat that his birthday was on Easter but I bet it was hectic. I am not surprised you are happy it is over because that is a lot a holiday and a bday fun but a lot ❤

Yes it really is, I was so happy and surprised by it all since I am used to only the egg hunts being for the kids. I made a mad dash as soon as the hunt began lololol

Stan’s Donuts! That’s too funny. Andy and I go to a Stan’s Donuts that has been a fixture in Westwood village since the owner, Stan, opened it in the 60s. Yum!! I’m drooling right now just thinking about it. XO
