Once in awhile I get in the mood to make lasagna. My family loves eating it and it’s super easy to make. I do want to learn how to make my own marinara sauce but in the mean time I’ll just enhance the sauce from the jar. Here’s my step to make an easy meaty lasagna.

-1lb of ground beef
-1 jar of marinara
-1 can of tomato paste
-2 cups of shredded mozzarella
-2 cups of fine shredded Parmesan cheese
-lasagna noodles, cooked (save some cooking water)
-15 oz of ricotta cheese
-1 large eggs
-1/2 onions, chopped
-3 cloves of garlic, minced
-1/2 cup of red wine
-2 tbsp of butter
-1 tsp of sugar (not in picture)
-1 tsp of Italian seasonings (not in picture)
-parsley (optional)

First, add some olive oil in a large skillet pan. Add garlic and onions on med high heat to release some aromas. Transfer into a bowl. Add ground beef into same skillet and cook until it’s well done. Drain out liquid or oil from the ground beef. Cook the lasagna noodles following the package cooking direction. In a large sauce pan, add the marinara sauce and tomato paste on medium high heat. Add the sautéed garlic and onion into sauce. Add Italian seasonings and sugar. Add the ground beef into the sauce. Add red wine in the skillet where we cooked the ground beef. Scrap any residue and poor it into the sauce. Stir everything together. If the sauce looks a little thick add some cooking water from the noodles. Add butter and mix. Lower the heat and let’s prepare the cheese sauce.
